Reliance Industries Q2 Results 2026: Revenue Hits ₹3.62 Lakh Crore

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), led by Mukesh Ambani, has delivered a strong financial performance in the second quarter of FY2026-27. The company reported record consolidated gross revenue of ₹3,62,268 crore for the July–September quarter, marking a 27.8% increase compared with the same period last year. Its quarterly profit also reached ₹29,550 crore, representing a 33.8% year-on-year increase on the reported recurring-profit measure.

The latest results underline Reliance's position as one of India's most influential business groups, with operations spanning oil refining, telecommunications, retail, digital services and emerging energy technologies.

Record Financial Performance in Q2 FY27

The September quarter has been particularly encouraging for Reliance Industries. Its consolidated EBITDA, which measures operating earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation, increased 23.9% to ₹62,409 crore.

A significant contribution came from the company's Oil-to-Chemicals (O2C) business. The segment recorded a 67.9% increase in EBITDA to ₹25,203 crore, supported by stronger refining margins, improved petrochemical performance and favourable conditions in global fuel markets.

This performance demonstrates how Reliance's established energy business continues to generate substantial earnings even as the company expands into newer industries.

Jio Platforms Makes a Historic Stock Market Debut

Another major development is the stock market listing of Jio Platforms.

The much-anticipated IPO, completed in October 2026, raised approximately ₹30,188 crore, making it one of the biggest public offerings in India's corporate history.

Jio's listing represents an important milestone in Reliance's long-term strategy of creating independent businesses with their own market valuations. It also gives investors a more direct opportunity to participate in India's rapidly expanding telecommunications and digital services industry.

During the September quarter, Jio Platforms reported revenue growth, while its customer base reached 542.4 million. Its 5G subscriber base crossed 300 million, reflecting the continued expansion of digital connectivity across India.

Reliance Retail Faces a Different Challenge

While energy and digital services delivered encouraging results, Reliance Retail experienced relatively slower growth.

The retail business reported gross revenue of ₹91,716 crore, an increase of 6.4% compared with the corresponding quarter last year. However, its operating profitability came under pressure due to investments in digital commerce, higher costs and changing consumer spending patterns.

Reliance continues to expand its retail network and strengthen JioMart, suggesting that the company remains focused on building a stronger position in India's competitive retail market.

What's Next for Reliance Industries?

Beyond its existing businesses, Reliance is investing in new energy, advanced manufacturing and digital infrastructure. Its New Energy projects are expected to play an important role in the company's long-term growth ambitions.

The company also faces challenges, including global crude oil volatility, geopolitical uncertainty and the need to improve retail profitability.

For Reliance, the next phase will not simply be about increasing revenue. It will be about successfully transforming its existing businesses while building new sources of growth.

The Bigger Picture

Reliance Industries' latest quarterly results reflect the strength of its diversified business model. Its energy operations continue to deliver substantial earnings, Jio is entering a new phase following its stock market listing, and retail remains an important part of its consumer-focused strategy.

The company's ability to balance established businesses with investments in emerging industries will be worth watching in the coming quarters.

For India's corporate sector, Reliance's journey remains an important example of how a traditional industrial business can evolve into a diversified business and technology conglomerate.
